Exporting data

Cashboard exports data in multiple formats, including CSV, XML, and QuickBooks compatible files.

We also have a full featured REST API if you'd like to do something more interesting than just export files.

XML data dump

Cashboard allows you to export all account data as an XML file once daily.

• Visit the Settings link
• Look in the sidebar for the section titled Data Export
• Click the XML File link

Doing this will start the export process.
An email will be sent to the Cashboard account owner when the data is ready for download.

Quickbooks file export

You can export Contacts, Invoices, Payments, and Expenses as an IIF file. This makes it easy come tax time, when you need to send information to your accountant.

Download all information in one go, from the Settings screen, or a subset of that information from Invoices, Payments, Expenses, and Contacts screens. Just look for the Export As… button.

If you'd like to download all Quickbooks compatible data at once, follow these instructions

• Visit the Settings link
• Look in the sidebar for the section titled Data Export
• Click the IIF File for QuickBooks link

CSV File Export

There is an Export Data button available in the following sections of Cashboard which will generate a CSV file for download.

• Contacts
• Invoices
• Payments
• Timesheet > Filter

Many customers find this data useful for manipulation inside of a program like Microsoft Excel, or Google Spreadsheets.

You can also import data from CSV files.

Special tip

On the Invoices, Payments, and Expenses screens you can use our Advanced Search tool to restrict the date range of information exported.
