Export Information?

Is there a way to export all information about old clients and projects? I'd like to do this so that I can delete those old clients, and not have them clogging up Cashboard. I tried doing Settings>Data Export>XML File, but the file (attached) is jam-packed and basically illegible. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Kate,

That’s the only bulk download we make available right now. If you need data in any other format, you could have someone write a script to access our API (https://api.cashboardapp.com/ <https://api.cashboardapp.com/>). That script could provide you the information in any way you need it.

What I’d really recommend though is to “archive” those old clients. You can do that from the Contacts tab on a Company or Person level. That will hide all of that information from Cashboard and “un-clog” it. It’s why I designed the feature :)

Thanks, Seth. Is there way to not see archived projects in the Project/Task
drop-down when searching time entries? I search time entries a lot, and
this is the main reason I'm interested in exporting and then deleting old
    clients. Thank you!

Hi Kate, no there’s not an option to hide them in that specific place. My apologies. I’ll consider ways to get around that in the future.
