<p>Not sure what you'd like to be "able to report on" here. Also
unsure why you mention Freshbooks, since we were the first to allow
zeroing and invoice in that method.</p>

Please forgive my misstep here and I realize my tone sounds like
I'm complaining. I'm not. I've been a loyal customer for a little
while now!! I've recommended Cashboard to a lot of folks.
Freshbooks can kick rocks!</p>
<p>That said, I would like to report on line items or products
better. I'd like to know how much I'm selling of specific services,
too. But I'd also like to know the amount of bad debt I've carried
each year as. Business-specific bad debt is something you can get a
credit for also. So having an easy way to report on that is a
nice-to-have feature. To further that recommendation being able to
report income/loss on line items, in general, is plenty valuable,
so if there's not a way to do that, I'd look at providing that.</p></div>Alex Vasqueztag:help.cashboardapp.com,2012-10-23:Comment/355692872014-12-18T07:48:32Z2014-12-18T07:48:32ZHandling "Bad Debt"<div><p>Also, an article on this very topic of zeroing out invoices and
why you might want to would make for a good kb article, or even a
blog post. What's that, you say? You don't have time to write it???
You're asking ME to write it?!! I could totally do that for
you.</p></div>Alex Vasqueztag:help.cashboardapp.com,2012-10-23:Comment/355692872014-12-18T19:02:41Z2014-12-18T19:02:41ZHandling "Bad Debt"<div><p>Interesting…I was unaware you could get a credit
(I’m assuming tax?) for bad business debt.</p>
<p>It’s not a super common request, but people do ask from
time to time about how to do this exact thing. Perhaps a way to
flag invoices as “bad debt” that would automatically
zero it by adding a negative line item, then the ability to search
on that flag would be helpful.</p>
<p>If I implement that soon-ish would you be open to writing a
guest post for the blog about it, deducting it from your taxes,
etc? I’m sure a lot of people would find that useful.</p></div>Seth Btag:help.cashboardapp.com,2012-10-23:Comment/355692872014-12-19T01:15:13Z2014-12-19T01:15:13ZHandling "Bad Debt"<div><p>Hey Seth,<br>
I know that seems like a fringe request, but non-paying clients are
a thing we all have to deal with and having a way to do so natively
is nice. I can zero invoices out for now. But, I'd totally be up
for writing that blog post for you. Blogging is a thing I do.

list. Hopefully it’ll get in near the first of the year.</p>
<p>I’ll be in touch when it’s close to get that blog
article from you :)</p></div>Seth B
