Any New Features?

Has there been any development of Cashboard since 2016? I looked through the change log from the about link at the bottom and the last record is for 11/2016. Is this no longer being updated?

Second, is there any way to see if an invoice reminder or initial invoice email has been viewed / opened?

Is there a way to automatically change the text of an invoice reminder after a certain number of days?

Is there a way to not create an invoice from an invoice schedule if the amount is $0 ?

    Hey John,

Cashboard in its current version has been in a state of maintenance since then, while I work on the next generation of the app. There is no timetable for the release of the new app, but it is being actively worked on.

    RE: Viewing invoice opens

As far as viewing opened state. You can see on each individual invoice from the “History” sidebar, when viewing that invoice when it was last sent, or viewed online by your client.

    RE: Changing automatic text

We have a template for both the initial invoice email, and another for invoice “reminders”. The text for both of these can be changed under Settings > Document Templates. The templates you’re looking for are ‘email_invoice_notice’ and ‘email_invoice_reminder’.

RE: Not creating an invoice when $0

There is currently no option for this, but you can prevent them from being auto-sent. This is a workaround that enables you to receive an email upon creation. After that happens you can login to Cashboard and either send it yourself, or delete it if the amount is $0.

    Hope that helps!

    RE: Viewing invoice opens

I am referring to the actual email / reminder history email. I have no way to confirm that it has been received outside of calling / emailing the client and asking them. I've previously reported a bug that you fixed related to invoice reminders. Assuring email delivery is a major aspect of email service providers and I have no way of knowing if Cashboard emails are being blocked, bounced, marked as spam, throttled, etc. How do I know that their email server isn't blocking your email reminders? Would I get a notification?

    RE: Changing automatic text

After a certain number of days, it would be nice to change the messaging of the reminder email. Similar to when a bill hasn't been paid in multiple billing periods and a warning notice is added.

RE: Not creating an invoice when $0

Yeah, I've used that workaround for years now, was hoping that it was addressed.

    Hi John,

Because Cashboard only sends plaintext emails there’s no way I know to track opens. If we were to do that, we’d need to switch to HTML emails which would allow some indication a client has opened it through the use of a tracer image or similar.

I definitely understand your requests, but can promise no changes on either of those in the near future.
