I'm very sorry but there's no way to undo a deletion. Deleting a
list warns you that all tasks will be removed as well - but I
understand that the majority of people quickly look past this.

We hope to offer undelete sometime in the future.

My apologies,

Please re-read my email. I deleted an empty list, and it removed
a task
from a different list. This is clearly a bug.

Sorry for not responding to exactly that point earlier.

I'll have someone on the team try and reproduce that exact
scenario to see if there's something we can do about it. I'm
guessing what happened there is that your client had updated, but
the update hadn't been processed by the server yet - mistakenly
thinking that the task was in the "empty" list.

Apologies for the weirdness.

was
careful to copy all the items in the task that I expected might
disappear. (Of course I have to enter them all back in which isn't
ideal
anyway.)

I have more information on how I have been able to reproduce
this.

Starting in a project view I rename a List then immediately
rename a
Task in that List (not sure if the timing matters). If I wait a
few
seconds, a new empty List appears with the old name. The
correctly
renamed List appears to contain all the tasks, but it doesn't. If I
were
to delete the empty list with the old name (I've done this three
times
now!), one or more of the tasks will go with it and disappear from
the
other List which I definitely did not select 'delete' on. If I
navigate
away and back to that same project page without deleting anything,
then
I see that the Task I renamed is now displayed under the old name
List
which I was just about to delete (which is probably what is causing
this
confusion).

If you want any more info on this I'll be happy to try to
help.

Tom Fishertag:help.cashboardapp.com,2012-10-23:Comment/291315392013-10-31T19:55:24Z2013-10-31T19:55:24Zbug: cashboard deleted an entire task and all its entries

Thanks for the detailed report Tom. I've assigned myself to this
and will investigate further.

Seth B
